Supported Decision Making: Sexuality, Relationships, and Identity

Participate Australia has created three video resources about Supported Decision Making and how to best support people with disability in the areas of sexuality, relationships, gender identity and expression.

These videos were created in a co-design process with people with disability, who helped with developing scripts, filming the videos and acting in the videos.

These videos were funded by the My Rights Matters grant from Council for Intellectual Disability (CID).

How to use the videos

The videos are designed to be an educational resource for people with disability, their families, friends and networks and as a training tool for disability support workers.

We recommend you watch the videos with a support person, such as a trusted family member, friend or support worker.

We recommend that you watch each video one at a time.

We suggest watching the video in full the first time around.

Then, you can watch it again and pause it after each section to have a conversation about what that section means.

Of course, you can also watch these videos by yourself and as many times as you want.

Keep your eye out for our upcoming Learners Guide which will accompany these videos.
