Elfa Moraitakis was welcomed as CEO of Participate Australia in 2023 and is a presiding Director of the NSW Council of Social Services, Council on the Ageing, and the Wash House.
Elfa is a social justice advocate championing change to address systemic inequalities through policy and practice to promote equity and inclusion with the vision to ensure all individuals, regardless of their cultural background or language proficiency, have access to the resources they need.
For more than 30 years, Elfa has been building her knowledge, skills and experience to advocate for the needs of multicultural communities to bridge gaps in the sector by driving and developing services for culturally and linguistically disadvantaged communities.
Elfa provides purpose driven leadership, empowering senior teams to thrive in their roles and deliver positive outcomes for the diverse communities we serve. Elfa has a strong reputation for building high performing teams by cultivating inspirational innovative business practices and providing strategic direction to drive business growth, pioneering pathways to strengthen organisational sustainability.
She was awarded with the 2017 Blacktown Woman of the Year title for supporting women from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds establish their own business. Elfa was also one of the 2020 UNSW Alumni finalists for Social Impact and Service, and a finalist of the 2021 Social Impact CEO of the Year.
